Rachel Corrie was murdered by Ariel Sharon's Occupation Forces one year ago. On March 16, 2003, she attempted to prevent the illegal demolition of yet another Palestinian home, a standard and savage Israeli practice which has left more than 12,000 Palestinians homeless, to date. The home she was trying to protect was in the Rafah refugee camp, Palestine. She was 23 years-old.
Rachel was run over twice by a 9 ton US-made and paid-for Caterpillar bulldozer as she stood in full view of the operators of the gigantic machine - a soldier and his commander - dressed in her orange fluorescent jacket. There is no question that the two Israeli killers saw her and deliberately ran over her. Once was obviously not enough for them because they put the machine in reverse and ran over her once more.
The shameful, and shameless, Bush administration remains unmoved. The White House did not request an investigation and did not protest the horrible and clearly premeditated assassination of a US citizen. The US 'free press' has showed no interest in the story: American women are not supposed to know.
