We are troubled by the excuses NBC has reportedly given to explain the withholding of Juanita Broaddrick's interview from the public and from American women in particular. Since the Lewinsky matter exploded, your program "Meet the Press" has gone to great lengths to create the false impression that all feminist groups were united on the side of a man we believe abuses women. This manipulation of mass opinion on the side of an offender has cast a shadow which will permanently cloud the reputation and the objectivity of your show.
It is important to know that victims of sexual violence recover best when their capacity to openly expose their trauma returns. In that regard, the holding back of Mrs. Broaddrick's interview is creating anguish among the thousands who suffered similar experience and amounts to a form of extreme psychological cruelty we do not believe NBC possesses.
Therefore, we request your personal intervention with NBC upper management to ensure that prompt airing of the interview takes place.
Yours Sincerely,
Marie-Jose Ragab President Dulles NOW
