Alexa.com reacted to the letter we sent last October 31 titled "Setting The Record Straight". The slanderous description of DullesNow.org was corrected as follows:
November 12, 2002:
- Our sister link DullesNow.com: disconnected - Site description: none - People who visit this page: "no related links for this site" - Site stats: - Other sites that link to this site: "no data" - Online since: previous info removed - Contact infos: none - Look for similar sites by category: previous info removed - Other sites that link to Dulles NOW: previous info removed - Traffic Rank Chart: "data not available" then followed by data somehow available plus the fanciful charts.
The Wayback Machine: - 2000: 0 pages - 2001: 2 pages and 2 upgrades - 2002: 0 pages
November 14, 2002:
- Our sister link DullesNow.com: reconnected - All of the above.
The Wayback Machine: - 2000: 0 pages - 2001: the 9 pages and 5 updates discussed in our letter were reinstated. - 2002: 0 pages
The points we made have thus been validated along with the opinions advanced by web government experts. There is little else to add.
We would like to thank all those who told us they contacted Alexa.com to express outrage at such censorship. As grateful as we are, we would nevertheless prefer that precious time and energy be directed against the truly enormous injustices we regularly expose. Yes, Alexa.com chose to act with bias and dishonesty and they will probably continue to do so.
What remains is the core question we asked the editors: what is it that Alexa.com does not want readers to know about Dulles NOW?
Marie-Jose Ragab President
Note: By December 22, 2002, Alexa.com had listed the correct contact information for DullesNow, as requested. For how long is another question.
